“And let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
Brave & Co has been on this journey for quite some time now, however, the Lord laid it on my heart to rebrand and strategize for the way forward. At that stage, I unknowingly placed a sticker of a yellow bicycle in my journal, next to the words “Brave Ministries”. A while later, I had a dream about riding a bicycle and I knew that this was the new ‘logo for my business. So many details followed, and I decided to combine my brand with an analogy that I want to present to you as well.
This is the story behind the rebranding, and why Brave & Co will be represented by a yellow bicycle sticker.
Our faith journey in life can be compared to a bicycle ride. When we first start off and receive salvation, we are unsure, but super excited for what’s to come, what you’re going to learn and the places you’ll go. Soon enough, you start to realize, you first need to learn how to properly ride this bike and embrace all the challenges that comes with this experience for the first time.
When we mature a bit in our Christian walk, we get to know our bike, and we can comfortably move along. It’s all good! Wind in our hair, a nice soft breeze blowing over our faces, enjoyable scenery etc. Then life happens. We get a bump in the road, and that is what I want to get to. Sometimes your faith journey can be a bit ‘deurmekaar’.
This is why God’s Word says that we should hold on to our faith, unswervingly. There are times where we let our feelings and emotions get the better of us, and you know what, feel what you need to feel, but don’t get stuck there. Maybe take a break, and walk for a while, but always get back on your bike.
In 2023, the Lord brought a huge change for me and my family and it took some time to get used to the new that He is bringing. On this journey, we experienced prophetic words, visions, dreams and confirmations, however, it has been an interesting ride. There are days where you seek, fast, pray, wonder, cry and worry. But there are other days where you feel excited, and charged up for the new that is coming.
I can tell you, that the momentum of your bicycle matters more than the voices around you. You need to grow, expand, search for more and you need to move. Yes, we can support each other, pray for one another and not neglect gathering together, but at the end of the day, your bicycle can only be ridden by you. You are responsible for your own faith.
Riding a bike is exciting, but sometimes you feel weak, sometimes you feel in control, steadfast, but also wonky, blossoming, and free, but also working hard to keep your focus on the road ahead of you. There are times where we ride uphill and times where we ride downhill. This is what I’ve learned on this journey so far. Faith can be fuelled, and at times we need to draw close to God to delve deeper into His presence. I feel chosen, I feel loved, and I know that God wants to draw closer to you too. He has given each of us a measure of faith, our bicycle. How are we using it?
For every parcel I send out with a yellow bicycle sticker, I hope to send a little piece of faith with it. A bit of joy, and a small blessing unto you. May you know that God is in control, He knows the path you’re on and which one you’re meant to take.
This is how we will get there, brave friend,
By Bicycle Faith.
