Hi brave friend,
It is time to dream! Have you taken any time to sit and write down your goals and dreams for the rest of the year? Let this be your chance, today!
Here are my 2c on goal setting:
1. First try to see what your long term plan is. Where would you like to see yourself in 5 or 10 years? If you don't know, don't worry! Start small. What about the end of the year, where would you like to be then?
2. Write down 5 things that you feel are strengths in your life. This could be one of your gifts, talents or even a job or business. Think about how these things can have an influence of where you can be by the end of the year, or in 5 years. We as Christians have to use our gifts and talents for the Kingdom of God. We can do that in many ways. For ex. creative gifts could be used at the church, missionaries, outreaches or cell groups, however, you can start a creative business that sells Christian gifts, arts or apparel. If you have an entrepreneurial gift, you can become a Kingdom financier, that supports ministries and missionaries. There are many ways to get involved and to use your gifts, to pursue your purpose.
3. Write down 5 things that brings you joy. See how these things connects to your heart, your purpose, and your plans ahead.
4. Think about action plans. Small things you can do on a daily basis, but also bigger plans that needs to be divided into smaller pieces. Make these steps achievable and make sure to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
There is a fine line between just rushing out and making irrational decisions and taking risks, however I do not recall the Bible saying "she sat on the couch and she was blessed". The Bible is clear that the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. (Matthew 9:37-38) Are you a laborer, prepared to work for/in the Kingdom of the Lord?
When the Lord gave us our unique gifts, He aligned them with His plans, His purpose. It is time for you to unravel what He has for you.
So, friend, focus on these steps and as you work through them, pray and seek the Lord. Ask Him to reveal to you what He has purposed you to be and what He wants you to do for the Kingdom.
Kind regards,
